David Claerbout

David Claerbout works both with photography and film.In his work, photography represents a fixed time, whilst film shows the evolution of time from one image to the next. This Belgian contemporary artist explores the relation between an image and time. Born in 1969, David Claerbout painted since the age of 7. He later left painting for photography and film as he was looking for an art that did not only consist of objects.
