Set in an old silk fabric factory just yards away from the house where the artistic couple used to live. It is in a lovely square with a romantic garden right beside the Mãe d’Água das Amoreiras, an impressive 19th century water reservoir. This museum houses a collection of Arpad Szenes and Maria Helena Vieira da Silva’s works on the first floor and a space for temporary exhibitions on the ground floor. It was inaugurated in 1994 and also has a research and documentation centre dedicated to the life and work of these two famous painters.
