Set in the charming area of Belém where there are so many other things to see, this riverside museum is actually a century old Lisbon thermoelectric power-plant with all its machinery still in remarkably good condition. It is a beautiful building which also houses other exhibitions: one on renewable energy sources, one on the scientists with most contributions in this field, another on the production and distribution of electricity and a section of interactive exhibits with experiments with various electrical phenomena and it also houses occasional temporary exhibitions.
