Casino Lisboa opened its doors on the 19th April 2006, a date it is very proud to celebrate every year with shows and concerts as important as those for the much expected night of New Years Eve.
With over 1000 machines in a spacious area spread over two floors, the Casino de Lisboa is a sure bet for everyone, for those who enjoy not only the challenge and suspense of the game, but also who want to enjoy a delicious meal, a fantastic concert, or a great show. The Casino Lisboa definitely distinguishes itself from many due to the futuristic and modern architecture and decoration. With a free entry, this is a place for everyone over 18 to enjoy.
Before you realise it, you are at the heart of the casino just a few steps into it. The floors are divided into squares and lit by neon lights that change into every colour of the rainbow. The Arena Lounge has become one of the main attractions of the city’s nightlife. Here you will find a multi-functional space. There is a rotating bar that later converts itself into a stage for famous bands, singers, and some of the best artists of the new circus. Using aerial straps, aerial ring, aerial rope, aerial tissue, aerial silks, Marco Noury, Victor and Natália, and Mikhail Stepanov are only a few of the many names that have performed on this stage.
Also at the Arena Lounge, you may enjoy a cocktail drink and finger foods with a chill-out ambience. The multipurpose stage provides the place for a different live band to act every night. Apart from animated concerts, you may also enjoy the stand-up comedy of Aldo Lima and Francisco Menezes. The big white walls will change into a large screen so that everyone can enjoy the important sport events of that day. At night, it becomes the platform for the imaginative VJ’s to project their animation, whilst a DJ takes its position in the Jukebox just below. You may assist every show by sitting at the rotating bar for a price of a drink, or for free in the surrounding area.
The Oceanos Auditorium is one of the best performance halls in Portugal. Many artists and entertainers have chosen this stage on which to perform due to its avant-garde features, such as a retractable ceiling with the latest technology and a capacity to sit 634 people. The removable backdrop gives the viewers in the Oceanos Auditorium a view of the rest of the Casino’s spaces. Sometimes, whilst you sit in the Arena Lounge just behind this backdrop, you may be surprised by an enthusiastic audience and a greeting of the artists that have been performing in the Oceanos Auditorium. This has been the stage for very sounding national and international names, such as, Mariza, Crazy Horse, STOMP and Madredeus.
Wine and dine at the Casino Lisboa. The choice is not made easy when you have three great restaurants to choose from. On the first floor, you have the Átrio restaurant. With its large glass windows, the Atrio restaurant invites you both to a fresh and sunny atmosphere from three o'clock onwards as well as a panoramic view during dinner time. The Átrio is a quick-meal restaurant with a fresh and innovative menu. The dishes prepared in front of customers as part of the “show cooking” concept, gives this restaurant a more playful feel to it. Here you may also enjoy just a coffee with a sweet pastry, or a beer and snacks.
The Spot LX restaurant combines all sorts of cuisines, from traditional Portuguese to Japanese culinary artistry, in an attempt to offer an eclectic and urban space with a gastronomic diversity. There is space for 120 diners to enjoy this “global” cuisine, with an area devoted to deserts, and dishes presented as true artistic pieces.
The most private area of the whole casino is in the Suite restaurant. This gourmet restaurant has its Portuguese cuisine enriched by the great Portuguese Chef, Fausto Airoldi. The concept of this restaurant is inspired by Hotel Suites, with its superb service and comfortable ambience, here you may try group menus with a “Room Service” style or a personalised menu with a “Mini Bar” style. The decoration mixes 1950’s retro with classic large round mirrors. With electronic music and theme parties, the SUITE is a very promising place for a night out in the city.
The Casino de Lisboa has something for everyone’s taste. All this animation, gastronomic experience, and dynamic betting ambience is reserved for adults only - over 18 years old.
