Praça dos Restauradores

Praça dos Restauradores
This square is dedicated to the restoration of the independence of Portugal in 1640, after 60 years under Spanish control. In the middle of the square there is an obelisk built in 1886 on which there are several names and dates carved in of all the battles fought during the Restoration War. Around the square you will find magnificent buildings of the XIXth century and early XXth century, such as the Palácio da Foz and the Cinema Éden.
