Elevador de Santa Justa (Lift)
The tower of this lift looks like a Gustave Eiffel project, and that is for a reason: It was designed by Raul Mesniere and the French architect Louis Reynaud who used several techniques and materials used in France at that time, the beginning of the 20th century. Initially the Santa Justa lift, also called Elevador do Carmo, was powered by steam but is now powered by electricity.
